I’ve been enjoying putting these posts together over the last few days…I hope you’ve been enjoying following along too 🙂 Today it’s the turn of my georgette dress with statement sleeves.
If you’re new here…hello and welcome! In the week or so leading up to Christmas, I’ve been working my way through a mini-series highlighting festive party/going out outfits. Many of the items have been featured before but I’ve styled them differently. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired along the way 🙂
For my dress, I used a Vogue 1518 designed by Zandra Rhodes. The body of the dress is quite a straight shift style with a bust dart, side zip and a short opening at the upper back fastened with buttons and loops. The highlight though is the amazing sleeves which have pleats and gathers…so gorgeous!
The fabric I used feels perfect for the design which suggests very lightweight sheer types. I found my lovely georgette from Minerva Crafts. Don’t you think it looks like a fabulous watercolour painting? If you want to know all about the construction and how those sleeves are shaped you can pop over to my original post featuring this dress here.
Rather than pairing some dressy sandals with my dress, I went for something a little different and popped on my dove grey ankle boots (from Dune London ) because they complement the tones in the fabric and create a bit of a 60s vibe (I love 60s fashion!). I wore this exact outfit to Valentine’s dinner this year and felt fab, but I also think it would be perfect to wear to an evening out with girlfriends or a sewists meet up like a Frocktails event.
So that’s outfit number 6. Just two more to go as we get ever closer to Christmas…I’m so looking forward to a break.
You can see the other outfits in this series here: One, two, three, four, five
Stop by again soon for outfit 7. See you then!
