How are you doing? Nearly ready for Christmas? Or do you still have it all to do? I’m 90% done… I think 🙂 So two days ago I kicked off my pre-holiday mini-series highlighting festive party outfits and today it’s the turn of the ever classic red Christmas dress. Hopefully, you’ll get some ideas along the way for your own outfit creation.
For part one in this series go this post
I know it’s a bit of a cliche but you gotta love a cheery red dress and look how well it matches my Poinsettia plant 😉
I made this dress a few months back. It’s a BurdaStyle pattern and it’s number 111 01/2019 . I love the side front seam detail and the in-seam pockets. It’s extremely comfy to wear too (great for a meal out). Of course, if you look at the photos is obvious that as usual I did some customisation and this time it’s with a checked textured border detail. If you pop over to the original post you can read all about how I did it.
The fabric is a fairly stable Ponte knit which I bought from Barry Fabrics in Birmingham UK.
This time around I loved styling my dress with some statement shoes. They came from Zalando online and I think, if memory serves, they’re by a brand called KMB. I think this would be a lovely outfit for a date night, or a dressy office party, or maybe a big family gathering.
Stay tuned for part three of this mini-series with more fancy festive style.
See you in a day or so 🙂
